Was in Thailand working with a charity 2 years ago.


Not sure about Bangkok but Chiang Mai Night market is good.


There is a Karen Village called 'lee' about 100km south of Chiang Mia. They work the silver there and if you turn up everyone has silver they are willing to sell (I went with our charity supervisor to buy some) I think the going rate was 8 Bhat a gram of worked siver jewellery. You would need to hire a driver to get there, but well worth it.
