12/11 Sunday Times "where Was I?"

Hello GG.
Clearly, the puzzler felt a bit flat this week as the "piers" did not appear to live up to expectations. I also felt this week's offering a bit ordinary since a relatively simple search of the elements of the second sentence identified the queen, (the only one I know who was born in that year and travelled afar), where she went after the battle and almost what she ate for breakfast. Also found quite a lot of what appears to be nepotism over those involved in the development of key features and the name of the third town which seem to be endorsed by Acts of Parliament. Coincidence, peut etre?
