Apparently Thomas Cook are offering their customers a way of reserving their sunbed at their hotels for the duration of their holiday. Doubt TUI will do the same.

Any way to skim a bit more money off the unwitting holiday maker...

^^^ What he said!!
Suspect that all holiday companies will soon "jump onto the same bandwagon"

NoMercy is right...yet another way to scam the holiday maker !
ridiculous waste of time and money, as NoM says another way to skin you..
Don't mind anyone putting their towel on the floor beside my sunbed. I can dry my feet before sitting down ☺☺☺
"...ridiculous waste of time and money,"

It depends on how you like to spend your holidays. Some people enjoy just lying by the pool all day. For many of them securing a sunbed in a decent position is quite like a military exercise. I imagine there will be quite a few takers for this scheme (provided it works properly) and after all, twenty quid or so on the cost of a foreign holiday is hardly extortion.
20 quid per head, what if you got loads of kids, thats still a tidy sum.
"...what if you got loads of kids,"

They won't want a sunbed each because they can't sit still for more than two minutes. They will have to share Mummy's and Daddy's.
and don't the extra £20 for an umbrella
would you get a refund if it hissed it down all week?
If it hisses down all week you can lie UNDER the sunbed.
Ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!
This is a 'pool half empty' kind of thread. Miserable greetin' faced lot.
Being new some while ago to 'first towel on the sunbed wins' I assumed the towels had been put there for anyone to use. We were confronted quite aggressively and rudely by a couple about the 'rules' (they always sat there as it was their favourite spot) and in the face of hostility we moved.
Next morning, we 'claimed' the spot before the aggressors and then went out for the day sightseeing.
Pointless, on my very rare holidays of this nature I just went and sat where I wanted anyway, any towels I lobbed into the corner assuming they'd been left.
"Doubt TUI will do the same". The probably dont need to. We went on holiday last year with them and the hotel expressly forbade "reserving of sunbeds".
Some on here seem to have had their memories affected by the sun.

TUI area German company unless no one twigged. LoL
I would never stay in an hotel where people pay to reserve their sunbeds. I hope that trend doesn't take off.
