Wife watching some junk made for tv American film on tv.
I noticed in a scene *** in front of a house , a house number of 21638.
Thinking about it , I have often noticed high house numbers while in the States.
Are roads that long ?
What's the highest house number you have ever lived at ?
In the uk it's been number 24 so far for me.

I can't remember my highest, probably 40 something, but there is a street into my nearest town that goes into the 200s.

The highest number for me is 119. 2 doors before the end of my road.
Funny about the U.S. door numbers, my aunt lives at 4993 and her street is quite long and has not got a name. It is like 31st avenue.

There is a long street between Wallsend and Newcastle/Tyne called Shields Road where the house numbers reach over 1000.

The highest house number I've had was 124 (in Sheffield) but I've got a friend (also in Sheffield) who lives at 649.

Googling suggests that the highest house number in the UK can be found at 2679 Stratford Road, Hockley Heath, Solihull, B94 5NH.

All post boxes were just your family name.
