Last time I did it was late 70's. We got the Harwich - Hook of Holland ferry that sailed overnight (so slept in a cabin), had breakfast on the ship and left the Hook about 8am. Got to Berlin about 5.30pm, but this was in the the East/West days and it took about 2 hours to get through the border.

yep, it's 650 miles so about 11-12 hours.

of course, depends on which bit of London you're starting from...if it's the centre, could add 2 hours!

It takes me between 10 hours and 3 days depending on: my route, the reliability of the roads/the weather/my car, how many times I stop etc, etc.
