Good morning everyone and a happy bank holiday.

OH is golfing today - somewhere near Sutton Coldfield - and so the two-toothed babbler and I have the day to ourselves.

I'm not sure where our usual skipper is, but hopefully all's well. Have a lovely day everyone.

SIL phoned me yesterday to tell me that my niece is back on the ward in recovery. The new kidney is working well. The pancreas didn't. so they took it out again, stitched her up and sent her back to the ward to recover. I'm going to pick up SIL later today, niece will be in hospital foe some time yet. SIL will phone me today to let me know when to go and pick her up. They will talk to niece and it will be her decision if she wants to have a new pancreas or not, rightly it's her decision.

That's great news, WBM. I hope she makes a swift recovery.

Fingers crossed her immunosupression remains stable. xxx

Good news for niece...one can survive without a pancreas...kidney is another matter.... after some recovery time she'll make that decision...

She can live without a pancreas but without one she won't be able to produce insulin so diabetes would be a given.

I'm lot happier now. On the grounds I knew I was not required to drive, I had a bit of a bender last night. :o}

We had drinks with lunch yesterday and then just carried on into the evening. No drinking for me now until Thursday ;-)

She's been living with diabetes all her life I think...so not a huge lifestyle change.... hopefully she'll be home soon

If her original pancreas wasn't functioning, she would know all about diabetes. I imagine she'd want to proveed with a tranplant in that case and rid herself of that awful curse.
