He is on his way home now. It took him 8.5 hours to get to Ghent. 2 hour traffic jam, thensatnav took him through Strasbourg which he didn't want and was horrendous.
When he got to his prebooked hotel. There was no food available except pizza and sandwiches, on a Saturday night of all times.
The phone connection was abysmal. He rang me, I answered and got loud music playing. Can't explain it. He rang me 4 times and when I answered silence. I rang him umpteen times and got the usual message the person you want is unavailable. He had to walk down the street to get a better signal. To add insult to injury the internet connection is crappy too, he had taken dvd's with him but they won't play. When he booked he was assured BBC television was available, it isn't. Never mind he is home tomorrow night.

better for OH to stay at home for good - the grass always looks green on the other side.

He usually enjoys his solo holidays, been going on his own for years. I enjoy the change too.
He has enjoyed his week just today a nightmare.
Always an adventure for sure, he'll soon be home and comfy again.
Surely you should pay EXTRA to be sure of avoiding BBC TV's Saturday night offerings, shouldn't you?
His dvd's where probably a different region.

He was thinking of "match of the day" Chris.

That's interesting tonyav.
Ruddy 'eck! There's a fascinating Test Match under way in Southampton and your OH wants to watch football? That sounds like good grounds for divorce to me ;-)

Tony:
The whole of Europe is DVD 'Region 2', so DVDs from any European country should play in any other European country.
Ah well it was just a thought, Chris.

Match of the day, which team does he support, Caran ?
I'm not sure why he does those solo holidays. Maybe a week in Devon ?
>>> I'm not sure why he does those solo holidays

He's married to Caran, Anne ;-)
Maybe a week in Devon

Or Cornwall, I'll be there in two weeks time. I'll look after him ;-)
Omg. You are in BIG trouble
Caran says above, he's done it for years and enjoys them - we never did solo holidays but I know couples who do.
He's married to Caran, Anne ;-)

ohhhhh that Chris is a brave man

I can't do the travelling abroad now, it's too much aggro.
We haven't flown for a good number of years can't stand airport hassle. We had a boat for a number of years then swapped it for a motorhome.
So I'm quite happy for him to go off on his own. Don't forget he brings me my wine ration back. He has already bought 6 bottles of gin from Lidl for about E5.60 a bottle. Same make as we get her.

Here not her!!
