Credit Card To Use Abroad And On Cruise (American)
4 Answers
Hi there
I was told Halifax Clarity is a good card to use abroad. Unfortunately I cant apply as I already have 2 halifax cards (with zero balance). Is there a similar credit card that can be used (for the bill due on last day of cruise and maybe some purchases in America)? The plan is to have some english cash , dollars and a credit card. Absolutely no idea how much of each ? thanks in advance

When you fill out the form saying you are registering your credit card for on board expenses, make sure you tick the box that says " I want my credit card to use their exchange rate" or something similar. Do not let the cruise line do the exchange before charging you...their rates are ***! Even though you have ticked the box, they don't always do what you say, so go to Guest Relations a couple of days in and check they have noted your wishes. On most cruise ships you can now check your bill on the TV. Keep an eye on it and challenge any mistakes asap...they make mistakes! Check your final bill before disembarkation. Its much easier to sort problems on the ship than later via e mail/phone. Having said that...have a great time!!!
