Our friends went to Wembley Market last weekend. They said some of the clothes were really cheap, but some were also very tacky.

Remember though - the trouble with buying clothes from markets is that if you need to go back & change an item, the stall holder might not be there!

(That's why I only buy clothes from shops).

I haven't been there but I think portabello is very vintage so may not be cheap as such.

As per the previous posts - neither Portebello nor Camden are cheap as the cheapest chips but may be a little cheaper than your local high street. The best thing about buying something from there is that (if you're not from London) you can 90% guarentee that the locals won't be sporting the same thing.

As said before - Portebello, vintage, different. Camden, punky, funky, young, bright colours

Oooh and I forgot...

Remember - there aint no changing rooms in markets, it's a sheet behind the stall if you're lucky. Cold bums ahoy!!

Chapel Market not far from the Angel underground used to be good fo all sorts of things, having said that ,it is 20 years since I lived in London but it was great then and I'm sure it still exhists.
