Drinki - re Australian car hire again

Hi Drinki (or anyone else with any ideas!) - thanks for your advice. Have checked a few car hire companies on the net and they seem to specify local use (but unlimited milage) - do you remember which company you used or how you got round this condition? Thanks.

Have you tried Holiday Autos or Auto Europe and the like as well as the companies themselves?

One way hires between the State capitals (excluding Perth) shouldn't be difficult but smaller places won't want to 'lose' their cars to another location.

We used Hertz last year and they didnt seem too bad, i think maybe about �500 including all tax's insurance CDW etc for 3 weeks, that was picking up at Brisbane airport ( pay extra for airport pick ups, but dont pay for a taxi ) and dropping off at Melborne Airport going via Sydney on the way, they didnt seem to mind the miles i'd put onto it either!!
