If Buying A Holiday Home Abroad...where & Why

factor in flight costs / weather / bang for your buck
etc etc

if you had budget of 50-100k where would you buy and why ?
benidorm being the most obvious choice i would think .

Don't think your budget would suffice to be honest. But if I could afford it on your budget it would be on the Amalfi Coast, Italy .

I have bad vibes about Spain ,especially, and Greece ,Cyprus and Italy. I love their countries but would not trust their notaries.

For that budget, look at France. Snag is that the market has collapsed, so although very easy and cheap to buy - it is now virtually impossible to sell. Also the notaires are simply a tax-gathering arm of the govt. and the buyer pays the biggest fees. I considered Spain, but when I saw the building standards of the estates they were throwing-up, I changed my mind.
We love living in Yorkshire. Considered buying a tiny holiday-home in France in the area we lived in, but it's not worth it for us. I wouldn't buy abroad again, personally Sorry to be a damper. :(

We bought in Marrakesh .....fabulous...if we did it again then Essouaria which is beautiful! Probably not Benidorm....although we have had a great break there.

With such a small budget, any choice would be severely limited. I'd probably be considering seeking a place in the Polish Tricity. While properties right on the coast (in Sopot) might be beyond the funds available, there might be suitable properties available more cheaply elsewhere within the Tricity. (i.e. within Gdańsk or Gdynia, or within the smaller conurbations in the area).

Such a property would still afford you easy access to Poland's leading seaside resort (Sopot), while providing you with all of the facilities offered by the other big cities.

The Tricity is served by Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa airport, with cheap flights available through Ryanair from 8 UK airports and with Wizz from 5 UK airports.

Don't really know any more. Years aho the Med would've beckoned but these days it seems less appealing. That's the problem, if you want something better than good ol' UK where is safe and pleasurable ? Maybe I'll continue to stay here.
