A Bit Disappointed Today.

We had been given a gift voucher from daughter for a cruise on the river Severn. We had to go to Upton on Severn for it.
It was a two hour cruise with a fish and chip lunch.
We set off at 12.30. It was the most boring two hours we have had.
There was nothing to see except the high up river bank. No commentary as there was nothing to comment on.
Then the rain came down. It was torrential, almost sideways.
After an hour the boat turned round and took us back to the moorings.
It's such a shame as we had been looking forward to it for a while.

He's a volunteer at the Cotswold Canals Trust Visitor Centre at Saul Junction, which is only about thirty miles from you. As well as helping staff the centre, he skippers boats taking visitors along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. I'd be prepared to bet that he'd make the trip interesting for you! (He knows plenty of great pubs, serving excellent food, around there too!)
I think the so called river cruise is one big joke in this country. They do one near me on the seven, not that I would bother with it, a grand total of 20mins each way. As soon as people board their flogging them food and drink, and that's what its really all about. You are better off I would think as 22.05 says.
Ah well Boaty the beers can flow in moderation, it is the same with me if I watch F1. Touch wood not had a cold yet this season, Jen had her flu jab earlier this week, because her immune system is shot and flu could be serious, although the actual vaccine used is just a best guess but an educated one. minty sounds like your drains either need rodding, jetting or both, the backing up with get worse and more frequent as winter progresses, do you share the drain?
