No reason why it should be. If the EU can't negotiate a trade deal without going off subject then clearly they aren't interested in a trade deal. Sounds like a remainer press story.

It seems not. Ms McGuinness chose a career in politics at the age of about 48. After being rejected as a domestic candidate in Ireland's 2007 General Election she turned to the European gravy train for sustenance and has been a career Euromaniac ever since (holding memberships of various committees and "working groups"). She is the lady who admonished Nigel Farage for having a union Jack on his desk and who cut him off in his final speech for waving one.
