Wooden Duck Board

We have one of these in this rented barn conversion we’re staying in, leaning against the wall near the shower.
Personally I would never use one, especially in a holiday rental. At least the shower tray gets cleaned, I’m not sure how often, if ever, a wooden duck board would. Or am I missing something?
Do you have one at home? Why?? What’s the purpose of it???

Indeed woof, yuck!
I would happily use a wooden duck board to stop me slipping over in the shower. I do have a problem though with wooden chopping boards in holiday rentals - I have to pour a lot of boiling water over them before using them.

From what I have since found out though, diddly, they’re for stepping out of the shower on to, instead of a bathmat, not for in the shower tray, as I originally thought.
I would think a duck board would be more unsafe to be honest, shower trays more often than not have non slip surfaces.
I agree about wooden chopping boards, this rental has glass ones. In fact the whole place is immaculate, thankfully, you never quite know what you’re going to be faced with do you?
Just put a towel over it and step out onto the towel.
Is it for wooden ducks?

There’s a freshly laundered bath mat here Tilly, one of those like a thick towel, so no need to do what you suggest. Why use the duck board at all?
Maybe khandro, maybe ;)
