As I have always maintained, psychologically, humanity needs answers to big questions, even if an answer is not actually the one they would like.
That leads automatically to ... ta dah … the conspiracy theory!
It will be bracketed alongside the deaths of Elvis, Kennedy and Princess Diana, the twin towers, the moon landings … the list goes on.
Someone somewhere, and it may actually be you nailit, will come up with an idea that is more interesting that the boring truth, and it will gain traction thanks to the internet, and people will build ane embellish it, and there will lots of "What about this for an idea …" batting around the planet, and then we will move on to the next one.
The simple fact is, from the individual to any government, no-one has a script for this, people are making it up as they go along, be that looking for ways to try and contain or at least control the peak of infection, or sitting around dreaming up dark notions of secret powers in charge and control.
It's what we do - it's what makes us human.
