Where Can I Cash This Euro Cheque, For The Best Rate In Uk

I got a cheque from my previous boss €340 I need to crash it in the UK I went to my bank the Halifax they were only going to give me £276 that is a disgrace
where can I get a good rate for this check, I am due to start work in Dublin next week so wondering would someone take it in Dublin,
though I have no bank account in Dublin but I do have my driving licence on my passport for proof of ID

the interbank rate is 91p that would get you £306 but you never get that you get the spread between buy and sell rates on currency markets, they are giving you 81p which is pretty poor I agree. The spread is usually 5% each way so you should be getting more like 85p

yes you should of been expecting around £290 - £295. So it depend's whether your bothered about £15

Not only do you only get the mid rate but you have to allow for a charge to collect the money. Depending on whether the cheque gets credited on a negotiation (more expensive) or sent for collection, cheaper but you have to wait for the money until the drawing bank send the funds.
