I commute each day over this route, and none of the vehicles travelling around me are distanced by anywhere near two seconds. Even I would admit that while in the third lane, there is only around 1 ½ seconds between the car in front and me – even so, I am regularly undertaken by a tailgater who then pulls in front of me.

I was told that the safe distance between cars travelling at 70 mph on a Motorway is that between two lamp posts along the centre. What if there aren't any lamp posts, I here you say? i dunno. There's always cameras!
