Confused About Booking A Holiday?

How stupid do people have to be to not understand that booking a holiday now is not a good idea? Saying the government are giving conflicting advice is just ridiculous - what part of they cannot make a decision at present don't people understand? I know Matt Hancock has said he is planning to go to Cornwall this summer, but even he won't be able to go if the restrictions are not lifted by then. Who in their right mind would bother booking somewhere at the moment?

This holiday nonsense is getting on my wick. It matters not a jot if Hancock has booked his holiday or not, everyone is free to book one or not.

I certainly won't be, but that's because I can't be arsed to fight with a company to get my money back if we can't go.

He was unwise to say it as he should of known peopel would try to make mischief and people like to pretend there getting confused messages. But its obvious to anyone who isnt delibratley confused that its a matter for them to decide on given that theres so much uncertainty and risk with booking anything here or abroad.
Am sick of the press allso keeping asking the question "should people book a holiday prime minister".

There are very many people who view being able to take a foreign holiday as an integral part of their year/lifestyle.
Their inability to book one or fly away to warmer climes causes them apparent mental anguish.
Personally, I will wait until such a time as the all-clear is given *and* unlikely to be rescinded before I plump on going anywhere.

Booking a holiday might be a very good idea - just be sure you realise you may have to cancel.
While conflicting advice, or conflicting anything, is not a good idea, the fact is no one really knows what the situation will be by the summer. So there are bound to be mixed messages, or confused expectations.

Holidays have allways been important to us- a couple abroad and a few weekends away in GB but after the hassle of getting refunds last year and the uncertainty over whether places will be open, quarantine etc am not going to book anything for forseeable future. When things are eased the priority will be to meet friends and visit family around GB, and go out for a meal and drinks.

No one is that stupid to think that Matt Hancock booked a holiday yesterday morning? BUT, there are millions and millions of people only hear what they care to hear. When they hear him say I have booked a holiday in Cornwall they don't bother to digest the , ( should , could, may be, hopefully.

A government minister should know how to be, delicate, tactful, judicious, prudent, discreet, whatever one takes you fancy. It seems Boris has now got the idea after 12 months.
