Please explain these to me.
Someone shirking in 27 , or a loyal chap. Ans Goldbrick. The answer to 27 is Des Moines (clue Loose ends , some involving Iowa's capital? Yes) I've heard "brick" for a good person (Enid Blyton -Famous Five language?) but never goldbrick. But in any case, where does the someone shirking come in ?
Woman rejecting lover once found in ditch . Ans jilt . To jilt could be to ditch and a woman rejecting a lover is jilting them -but can't quite see how the wordplay works.
Code name for some grass. Ans lawn. I've googled but can't see the code bit.
