Best Premier Inn In London…
Got myself some tickets for Hans Zimmer in March 2022 at the O2. However at the tender age of 32 I’ve yet to experience our capital! So planning on staying a few days.. I would prefer longer but sure it won’t go down well with my sons school.
Anyway, I love a good premier inn.. (also open to other suggestions) but for the general sight seeing.. shopping.. good food.. which is the best to stay at? I have a budget of about 500-600 for the 3-4 days.. but understand with it being London it may be a little more.. however hoping with the low season it may not be! ..
Love a good recommendation :-) thanks!

If arriving by car, for instance, find a hotel with parking space in the suburbs that's handy to a tube station (never drive in London if you can avoid it). If by train, somewhere near the arrival/departure station. The O2 itself is on the Jubilee line, which is easy to travel from, but do check that it's not being shut down for maintenance as sometimes happens, because there aren't a lot of alternatives.
I don't recommend the one at Beckton but the one at Docklands is excellent. Short walk from the DLR with connections to Excel. The other option is the one at Stratford, again with DLR transport to Excel. I slightly prefer this one as you have the shopping and restaurants at Westfield Stratford. Have used this one more often as I had grandkids with me. However both were good value BUT have not stayed at either for the last two years. Enjoy your visit
Thanks all.. I’d like to be near the hustle and bustle.. proper tourist haha. Boys are 9 on the day we arrive actually.
Will look into an Oyster card I think.. thanks for that.
What are all your favourite touristy things?? Suitable for 9+ Ofc.. An absolute novice.. visited so many capitals in other countries but never my own.. aha!
We’ll be travelling down via train from Chesterfield.

there's so much to see, there's a temptation to try and do too much, which you should resist. (we took a visitor from Estonia on a daytrip to London a few years ago - she made a list of what she wanted to see/do, and we did it all. the poor girl was completely overloaded at the end....)
decide what you want to do - culture/history, the arts, fun - if the latter you could do worse than base yourself on the south bank. a spit from Big Ben, the London Eye, Sealife, London Dungeon - and your young'uns will be fascinated by the street theatre artists who usually perform by the waterfront. plus there's lots of eating choice and is well served by public transport.
