We were renewing Mr Red's passport - sent in via RM Guaranteed next day and according to track and trace it has not been delivered.
I phoned them (RM) and they claim it has been delivered but due to the number of deliveries at the PPO it is impossible to track everyone.
My issue is that the PPO says it has not been delivered RM say it has been delivered and we are stuck between a rock and a hardplace.
Any advice please?

I'd probably start by going back to RM. Guaranteed track and trace they should be able to give you a name that signed for it, even a photo - including when sent to what is probably a big mail room at PPO.
Just to add, although neither helpful nor probably fair but I'd bet the fault lies with the passport office.

The post office do not have a signature of who collected it nor do they have evidence that it was even delivered - they are maintaining that it was delivered to the passport office - the passport office say it was not delivered to them!
What specific delivery did you pay for?

Ultimately I think this is the RM's responsibility really.
They are paid to deliver and get a signature and if they haven't done that it is their fault.

The chances are it's in the backlog of items waiting to be logged onto the Passport Office's system but if Royal Mail hasn't done what it's meant to do, that isn't helpful.

ick I agree - I initally complained to royal mail on tuesday - today a check for the cost of postage has turned up - is that them wiping their hands of it now?
I think it is a terrible way to run a business - Amazon should run RM!
Have you asked Royal Mail how they know it's been delivered and why no signature was provided as per the service for next-day delivery by 1pm?

I have sent a message to passport office but how long do we wait till we decide we have to change our application!
we have 3 months to get the passport sorted - as it was a straight forward renewal we thought we had plenty of time - but if RM cannot get the first bit sorted then what hope is there?

E-mail your local MP and ask them to get involved.

I have sent items worth £2,088 via Royal Mail tracked and fully insured a few times over the last month and most meet 1pm deadline or within 24 hours if missing deadline so they don’t have to pay postage refund.

Being the passport office and it seems most are working from home, I would imagine it’s been delivered and waiting in a large sack in a mountain of sacks.
I posted a tracked item to the USA a few years ago worth £100.
It went to France instead and after 2 months I claimed for compensation and for it.
5 months later person I sent it to in the USA received it (laugh emoji).
He paid for item and I was happy and so was he.

If it has been delivered then why has Royal mail not got a signature of proof that it has been delivered as that is the service I have paid for.
