The African Lion is the King of Beasts, the greatest, the largest carnivore in Africa, and the animal that most people most want to see while on safari. The only cats that live in groups, or prides, these legendary predators are the second-largest big cats in the world after tigers.

what a fount of knowledge AB is.
yes it is, lol
While you are right in most of your facts about size and living in groups, most people would say that a Leopard, or even a Tiger are far more superior creatures.
Don't know too much about Tigers but I know Leopards don't lay around sleeping all day while they let the women go and hunt and then expect first dibs at the food.

Just living the life baby!
and get me a six pack from the fridge while you're at it.
leopards spend a fair bit of time sleeping in trees, having hauled their food up there to avoid scavengers.
Yes they do, but al least most of the time they catch it themselves, and they CAN climb trees!
oh sure, lions are lazy blighters. And when they take over a pride they kill all the cubs so the only ones will be their own. I wouldn't have them over for dinner in my house.
My ginger tom is just like the leopards in the way he drapes himself over a narrow surface with tail and a back leg hanging. I am always waiting for him to fall. Not so far. He would be a miniature leopard only for his coat.
