Study Year Abroad / Visa Help / Czech Republic
1 Answers
Hi,
Can anybody give me any advice because my university, both at home and overseas, isn't able to and trying to get a response from the embassy is the hardest thing ever.
I'm meant to fly to Prague in less than a week and still don't have my student visa, it's literally been one thing after the other with it. I've been trying to apply for it since July and when I finally managed to get an interview there was a problem with my application, one document wasn't translated and legalised properly.
I’ve been trying to get it legalised since just after mid August and they finally sent it back to me today saying that they couldn’t legalise the document because it was a photocopy, something I asked the solicitor about because I didn’t think it could be but she assured me it was fine. So now I have to resend this and it’s going to take another few weeks to get it back and translated before I can even reapply for the visa interview.
I’m travelling from the UK and it says that you can travel and stay in Prague for up to 90 days but I don’t know if this applies to students studying abroad. If so, what do I do about the visa application? Can I apply and have my interview in the Czech Republic or would I have to fly back to London and have the interview there? A part of my studies is that you can’t miss a number of classes otherwise it’s an automatic fail but I know there is literally no chance of me even getting an interview for the visa before I go.
I hope this all makes sense, I’m quite all over the place worrying about what happens now. Can anyone offer any advice, any at all would be greatly appreciated right now.
Thank you so much!
