Barry at 10:10 has my answer. Like most Cities NYC is a toilet, even more so now crime is building up.

I have worked there in the past - had a work visa, both in the City and Brooklyn. Never again.

Day trip to Niagara falls (13 hours) then if I could fit it in the sunset boat trip around the city, 3 hours ending with just sitting somewhere people watching

I'd head to Greenwich Village to see if its changed since I used to wander there. Then I'd head to a smallish and pretty museum...the Frick Collection...which I seen is in a temporary location.

If I had one day in NYC, I would get a short flight to Boston.

I would visit the Art Deco buildings and then I'd go around the posh shops so they can tell me they have nothing that would suit me or that I could afford.
