Poles through the clouds at Heathrow

A friend of mine was circling Heathrow ( 7th Dec this year) at 8000ft.There were 4 "poles" poking through the clouds.They circled again and they were still there - she could tell by the position of the sun that it was the same place. The stewardess did not know what they were - my friend did not pursue the matter. No idea what size or distance apart because there was nothing to compare them with.Antone got any ideas?

suetheramble, its the two towers/antennas at crystal palace. The thinner one is the tower in the park at crystal palace and the bigger tv antenna is the one at the top of Beulah Hill next to the all saints church. At night the one in crystal palace park has red lights on it.
