After being made redundant I applied to Network rail for a job as signalling assistant.I got told that I have a job but need to wait a few months for a start date.So as I wasn't getting any JSA I have a job with an agency earning really good money.The question is someone has since told me that you have to travel around different areas with Network and that you pay for travelling yourself .Anyone any experience or thoughts???Thanks . As far as i know, if you havnt been told otherwise Network Rail should pay for your travel if you need to go on any courses etc i think what you may have been told is that if you apply for a job which is not in your home town/city then they will not pay for you to travel to the place where you have applied for the job. if that makes any sense??

I work for Network rail.If you need to go on any course which they need you to attend then you should get travel warrants to use on the train.

If not contact personnel and ask why.This company is full of lazy fat management who need a good kick up the backside.
