One I've mentioned before is thin brown bread, crusts cut off, spread with cream cheese and a slice of smoked salmon laid on top, rolled up like a swiss roll, then cut into 'wheels'. Very easy to make and very effective.

Make sure everyone who lends you cutlery ties a different coloured thread on each piece, that way they can identify them easier afterwards.
if you want hot food may i recommend "Gas Man Stew" (a Jamie Oliver recipe) - everyone loves it and it's all in one (potatoes and meat). I served it to my family "do" at Xmas and it was a hit
as a dessert you could have a chocolate fondue fountain they are delicious and a change from the normal cakes. im not sure where you can get them to rent but a local cake shop might be bale to help. i no u can rent them as a friend rented one for her wedding
There's a recipe on Delia on line for mini cheese and onion scones that are totally delicious, easy and can be made before hand and frozen making them really easy on the day.
