Budapest Spas
I'm going to Budapest for a long weekend with my bf on the 4th (Feb). We want to visit one of the thermal baths/spas but I know some of them are seperate for men and women and I'm not so sure I really want to spend an afternoon away from my man - not really the point of the holiday! Can anyone recommend a spa that has at least some co-ed pools, and also can anyone tell me the general dress code - do you have to go starkers?! Also any general tips - I'm a bit worried about doing something wrong!

Unfortunately for us, we didn't succeed due to lack of time. However, so far as I remember, there are about 5 or 6 dotted around, some on the Buda side and some on the Pest (there is even an openair one in the middle of a park I think!). Your best bet is to go to the spa at the Hotel Gellert, which is the one we would have tried out. It is a mixed spa (one or two of them are gay establishments I believe) and is part of the Hotel Gellert, right on the banks of the Danube.
The Gellert is apparently beautifully done out and seems very popular with all ages. There is a huge board just inside the entrance that tells you all you need to know. You can either just buy a ticket to spectate (!) or to use the facilities. And so far as etiquette goes, I think you can wear swimming costumes, or they supply you with what I think are paper type costumes (imagine little apron-style loin cloths for the men and you won't be far wrong!).
Anyway, 'tis about time I stopped rambling on. Check out...
