Amsterdam is quite compact and just wandering around the old part and the canals can be lovely if the weather behaves itself. A cruise in one of the glass topped boats followed by a walk to the floating flower market and lunch/drinks in one of the canalside cafes/restaurants would be nice. The fact that it is so different from here (the natives are very friendly) makes it seem romantic anyway.
