Hi all,

I'm travelling down to London soon, and we have theatre tickets booked for 7.30pm. Just wondering if anyone can reccomend a nice place to eat? Nothing too expensive, although i presume that you will have to pay a bit more because it is in that area!

Many thanks in advance,

Lianne

quite often a restaurant near a particular theatre will do a "pre-show" or "post-show" deal - tho' you haven't said which theatre so can't really target a particular one.

Sorry, we're going to see "The Producers" at the "Theatre Royal, Drury Lane". Been looking on a few websites, but was just wondering if anybody had any personal reccomendations.

I also love Sarastro but I regard it as a 'special occasion' restaurant. While it's not wildly expensive, I wouldn't really say that it's particularly cheap either. (Papageno is part of the same firm so I'd expect it to be equally good).

My recommendation for a more budget-priced restaurant in the area, however, would have to be Bistro 1 on Southampton Street. A 3-course dinner (e.g. smoked duck salad + sea bream + tiramisu) costs just 9.00! (If you're in London earlier in the day, they serve the same menu at lunchtime for 7.50!).
