Remember that really windy weekend a few weeks back? Well, a tree fell on my car (Rosie) and wrote it off. It was a council tree and the roots were rotten. I have taken pictures and sent them off with a letter asking for compensation. What's my next plan of action if they refuse or I don't get a reply?? Rosie's back was badly broken and I miss her like crazy! Ohhhh Rosie................ :(
Go to the citizens advice. Remember council's being councils, if you owe them money they're on you like a ton of bricks, t'other way around ' they like to take their time. Just keep on at them.
My condolences on the demise of Rosie, josie. I agree 100% with tgunn, don't let them fob you off with that 'act of god' rubbish etc. If possible, get some professional support.
Assuming Rosie was insured, this is what you pay your sky high premium for. It is the insurance company's job to do the chasing of the Council for you. Failing that, phone your local councillor, that is what they were elected for(whether you voted for them or not).
