'nention', NORMAN? 'ther'? Tut, the standards of orthography round here just get worse and worse. Anyway, flying east is always quicker. Bear in mind that airlines always pad their schedules - they will list a seven-hour flight as eight hours, so that if they're an hour late they can pretend they're actually right on time.

jno's right, often the so called 'eight hours' to Chicago is alot less and it sometimes surprises me when the pilot announces once we've levelled out that it's about 6 hours 45 minutes flying time. Then I remember we spent the last 45 minutes taxiing and ascending to 36,000ft.
