i was lookin at this site www.couchsurfing.com it sounds a kinda ok way to travel if ya on a budget,Has anyone done this before???

I have not personally, but I first heard about this and at least one other similar site by reading a very enthusiastic article in an in-flight magazine perhaps 6 months or more back. Like a variety of things that are person-to-person based, this would (I imagine) work out quite well in almost every case. People are on the whole much nicer than people think - if that doesn't seem too strange a way to put it - and of that I have a lot of experience across may borders, races and religions. Those who offer this facility to total strangers are probably the cream of the crop. The site permits direct contact before you commit yourself to anything - use that facility. Once you get there be at ease and you can expect to be well received - you might even be persuaded to give as well as take and invite people to visit you.
