Usually around 6-7 hours, support bands last about 45 mins to an hour, depends on how many there are, but usually they all start at 4, and roughly end about 11ish, well the ones i've been too!

Oasis, u2 and Coldplay to name a few...
In my experience, when there is just one suppot act they usuall come on at about 7:30pm. for about an hour, then the main act at about 9pm for 2 hours or more. This was at a city hall venue though, so it may differ at arenas.

I'd guess a show would start at 7.30-ish and finish at 10.30-ish.

Support acts usually last less than an hour.

Main acts usually do 1.5 - 2.5 hours.

Some acts have no support and will do 2.5 hours+.

Expect to be out by 11.00-ish.

hi I went to live 8 and we had no warm up bands so you might just go onto the show from the beginning.
id say the same as haffiesghirl if she hadnt already said it. ;o)
