Hi arwenant. I wonder if your going to take up my suggest to Lourdes it was a good route, and it would be well worth looking around Toulouse a very historical place and some nice places for a meal. Let us know what you think of Lourdes, if you get the chance go to Nevers the body of Bernadette is in a glass casket and an inspiring sight, and they have a lot of relics there and the room in the convent where she died is very peaceful.

yes your route is perfect for me flying from manchester and the way the flights go im going to be able to spend the entire afternoon on the way to Lourdes in Toulouse. my family and i visit Lourdes each year but normally with a group and this year we wanted to go for much longer so the flights and train are the best option. i would definately agree with you about Nevers i went a couple of years ago and it was amazing- in fact there aren't even the words to describe it!
