Presuming you have one, then what's wrong with carrying it anyway?
The official answer is NO but airlines do not like the idea of you passing your ticket onto a friend / brother so they insist on Positive ID like a passport / DVLC. They claim its for sercurity reasons ( though it never exsisted in the 70s at the height of the troubles and boats do not require this) but we know better. Worth taking anyway.
