One of the favourite American meals for children is macaroni cheese so I'm sure that will feature somewhere, as will one of their favourite (or should that be favorite?!) vegetables for toddlers and children - stewed apples.
We went to WDW last year ( and are returning next Friday, yaay!)
My children were 9, 6 and 3 last year - we were very pleasantly surprised at the variety of foods available, I was expecting chicken nuggets every day!
There were salads, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, whatever you like really.
heck out this website - it has menus for ALL the eateries in WDW!!!

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in WDW, and the foodcourt there was excellent - as well as counter service foods, you could take sandwiches, salads, yogurts, fresh fruit etc etc back to the room if you preferred.
Any more questions about wdw, I'm your woman - I could bore for England on Disney - and frequently do!!
