Travel from Bakewell to Chapel St Leonards
I have booked a holiday at the Robin Hood caravan site in Chapel St Leonards in July not realising that the Skills coach service has been discontinued. Have spent hours on the net trying to find a way of getting there without too much hassle to no avail. The best I have come up with so far is Bakewell to Chesterfield by taxi, Chesterfield to Skegness by train (with one change!) and taxi to Chapel St Leonards. I shall be accompanied by my mother of 84 and my grand-daughter so need something fairly hassle-free. National Express does not run a service. Does anyone know of a coach company which covers this route or an easier way to get there than I have come up with?

Natinal Express operate a service to Skegness from (amongst other places) Derby and Sheffield on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays. Whether this would be any better I don't know.

A time-consuming but relatively hassle-free route is via Sheffield. (The return journey is far less time-consuming):
Leave Bakewell at 0750, arrive Sheffield Interchange 0840. (Bus 218)
There's a one and a half hour wait but that would give you time to get breakfast in the cafe.
National Express coach at 1010, arrives Skegness 1235.
Then a bit of a dash for the bus to CSL. Departs 1240. Arrives 1311. (If you miss that bus it's not a disaster because there are later services or a taxi wouldn't be wildly expensive).
Those times apply on Saturday, 22 July. I've not checked other dates.
Return times (checked for Sat, 29 July only) are rather better, with no long waits:
Depart CSL 1309, Arrive Skegness 1339 (There are other buses slightly earlier if you think that the connection is rather tight)
Depart Skegness 1350
Arrive Sheffield 1625
Depart Sheffield 1640
Arrive Bakewell 1725

I'm amazed that I got even one answer to this problem! Have only recently discovered answerbank and this is the first question I have posted. Thank you dzug, In A Pickle and Buenchico for your very helpful answers and for going to so much trouble. I think I shall take the National coach from Sheffield and may splash out on a taxi as Buenchico suggests.
