can anyone tell me what type of injections and things i will need for gambia - im off there for 2 weeks in jan and i havent a clue what im in for???? help

Although still a small number, the greatest number of deaths amongst UK residents from malaria result from those who have travelled to the Gambia. Its not the mossies bite harder - its that more people travel there without taking the advisory tablets.
yes, definitely take anti malarial tablets, even though they may be expensive (for the best ones with no side effects - i had malarone). also ensure you have typhoid, hep A, polio and dyphtheria top ups/injections - mine were all combined in two simple tiny jabs. didn't have the yellow fever jab - it is recommended but not absolutely necessary unless you are travelling deep into the country. enjoy The Gambia, it's an experience !
