we stopped there two years ago twenty minutes walk from centre ideal for eating out three or four chinese in centre 4 or 5 course 10 to 15 pounds lots of portugese fish resteraunts at harbour pick your fish nice for couples recommend car for touring easy driving one long dual carriageway nice long beach enjoy

very nice place to relax, best times to go june, july .never in august unless you like to be too croweded!!!all other months ok but not as hot

it's a beautiful little fishing village and also has lovely beaches.

most of the hotels have their own private beach too. hotel pestana alvor (i think it is) is very nice.

strongly recommend.

make a point of going to the bourgonvilia restaraunt and have steak on the stone, unless of course you are a veggie, then forget all i just said. you will not be dismayed with alvor its a great place. get a taxi to prai da rocha , sit out the back of the *on the rocks* bar and take in the most fantastic view, its awesome. hope you are going for two weeks cause one aint enough.
