Torrent Sites

As someone who downloads a fair amount of Music/Movies (20GB per month), I was wondering what the chance would be of getting cought.I read the other day that some of the big movie companies are putting fake movies onto torrent sites which can read your IP address.Has anyone else heard of this? Also, my ip address is not static, so how would they know it was me.Would my isp know who had what ip address as a particular time?
