Spa trips to Iceland

My parents would like to visit a Spa in Iceland on a short break. Can anyone offer any advice on where best to stay, how to book etc.

Suggest you go to a nice hotel then, not a frozen food shop.....

Iceland can be an expensive place to get to, stay at and to shop in. It could be a little cheaper to take a flight with Iceland Air or Iceland Express (if you are in London area see: http://www.icelandexpress.com/ flights from �70) and make your own arrangements for the Spa - majority of Icelanders have English, so you should be ok. Just expect it to be fairly pricey trip.

As nickmo says, food is expensive. For a cheaper alternative they could try a fish and chip shop on a crossroads in the main shopping street. I think it is at the corner of Hringbraut and Holsvallagata, but I could be wrong. They claim to sell better fish and chips than you can get in the UK, and I couldn't disagree with them.

Hi grunty - mental picture there - holistic chill out body replenishing mins refreshing spa trip to wonderful scenery, etc etc etc - ..........and a fish supper for your tea on the side..........quality!

The fish and chips shop is on Laekjargata, close to the crossing with Bankastraeti/Austurstraeti. There are a number of restaurants that are not unreasonably priced, ask at the tourist info in the alley on the right just up onto Bankastraeti. I know people who are wild about the hot dogs sold at the little stand by the harbour - not cheap but spot on. Then try vinarbraud (would be called danish pastry in UK, but these are special) fresh out of a good (most) bakery but don't leave it too late in the day, they typically sell out.
