thinking of returning to Mauritius in November, for the diving and snorkelling-but have also thought about going to the Seychelles instead. Anyone know if it is as good for both of the activities named. Thankyou.

I preferred the Seychelles as it's slightly more laid back. I didn't do any wreck diving in either place, only the scenic stuff. I can't remember about mauritius but I know there was some wreck diving off the Seychelles...I just never got around to it. I did some fab shallow coral garden diving and also diving on drop offs where there are large pelagics. Seeing my first whale shark was superb. Enjoy your trip where ever you end up!
Sorry for the long delay in replying, I've been away for a holiday!
The hotel we stayed in was called the Casuarina hotel or the Casuarina beach hotel.....but it was ages ago, in the early 1980's so it may not be there anymore. I did my diving from a dive school/shop attatched to a hotel which was called the Coral Bay or Coral Strand. I know it's still there because I saw it advertised in a diving magazine last year. Have a look on the PADI website. Good luck and have a great time!
