Hi, we are going to France in August and for 2 days to DLP, my youngest is just 6 years old, hasn't been in a buggy regularly since starting school nursery at 3, did on long day occasions eg music festival up to last year at age 5. Seems a bit more "grown up" now, but still gets tired and whingy (as we all do) My friend at work has been to DLP and said she would definately take a buggy for her. Anyone any experiences or advice to offer with the buggy issue and anything else. Cheers

My daughter was 7 last year when we went,we considered taking a buggy but no way was she gonna consider sitting in it,she's not a baby she said,she walked all round it for 3 days,there was somuch for her to do and see that she didnt seem to notice how far she'd walked,we stopped for lunch and drink breaks,all our kids loved it even hubby and my mum and aunt,even with all the walking,just one thing though leave the village and shops inside till last,that place stays open long after the park!Have fun,it was brilliant and we def going back next year!

Thanks electricblue, I've read somewhere that you can't take a picnic in (well your own packed lunch, can't see any fancy picnic being put up) is that right?

We've just been to WDW in Florida with a 5 year old. She needed a stroller for the evenings but was fine most days.

On the other hand, my 7 year old boy needed a ride in one one particular evening! He didn't mind the embarassment, he was too tired!

You can rent strollers at the parks, so if you don't want to bother taking one, that's an option.

As far as I can remember, you can't take food into the parks. It's a while since we've been to DLP, so I'm not sure if they carry out bag checks there, but certainly taking food in is a no-no! (bet plenty of people do though!)

We took our 2 last august and they were fine walking about.My son was 5 and so was my partners daughter.There are loads of places to stop for a refreshment break and they adored it!!

I did not know that they did bag searches.

They certainly didn't when we visited last year. We took a bottle of undiluted squash, jam, marmite, biscuits etc in our luggage & had a picnic everyday.

I went to DL P when my two were 6 & $, no problems. They kept going all day long, they certainly slept well though (as did us grown ups)

They will love it!

oh yeah,they did do a bag search,not thorough but a poke about,have a great time curiosity and take plenty of pics and videos!!xx

Some years ago my daughters friends went there on a school trip. As you say, no 'own food' allowed. So they bought what was on offer, and all got food poisoning.
Take your own, and if anyone asks say it's medical, 'special diet ' food.

I took my daughter to DLP last year when she was 5. Hired a stroller. So glad we did!! Somewhere to put your bags as well while you're walking around! We went in Feb and it was freezing - so it was handy being able to wrap a couple of blankets over her when she was sitting in it.

The days are long and there is a lot of walking around to do.....I could have done with someone pushing me around in a stroller some of the time!! Loads of kids used them.

My advice - hire one in the park entrance. You can always take it back if you decide you didn't need it after all - and it wasn't expensive.

Hi, we've just been with a 4 year old and a 2 year old and just the one buggy. We tried to keep them to bed maybe only an hour later than normal and they were fine - just once wanted to go n daddy;s shoulders. If all fails hire one there. have fun.
