...I was in tesco's the other day and saw this strange looking fruit for the first time, I didn't buy one, but was curious about how to eat it and what it tastes like...anyone ever experienced one?

They are very nice - don't really taste of much though. You cut them in quarters and eat the inside. The peel is very bitter, so don't eat it by mistake or anything.

And they are pretty!!
