I would just like to know how old you have to be to smoke in Canada as it is 16 in the UK, and I am going on holiday. Also are the laws about smoking in Canada the same as the UK can you smoke anywhere on the street or do you have to be in the area that is set out for that erpose. I would just like to get the idea of what it is like.
In most of Canada it is illegal to smoke in a public place if you're under the age of 18 years.
But beware, this age limit has now been raised to 19 years in Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and British Columbia.
I've lived in toronto all my life and started smoking at 14, the age to buy smoke's is 19 but you can smoke at 16. I've never had any trouble they really dont care how old you are. There is a smoking ban in public places and covered patio's so you will have to smoke outside. Where in Canada are you going?
