Are i-pods cheaper here than in Turkey?

A turkish friend has asked us to take him an i-pod but I don't know whether he would be able to use it in Turkey and are they cheaper here anyway... thanks!!!

An iPod purchased in the UK will work fine in Turkey. The only slight problem (unless it goes wrong) would be with an AC adapter/charger. Turkey uses the same mains voltage (at the same frequency) as the UK but has a different plug. It would be necessary to replace the plug (which is a very simple job) to use a UK mains adapter/charger in Turkey. (Alternatively a travel adapter could be used).

As far as prices go, you'll have to ask your turkish friend to see if these prices are any cheaper than in his homeland:

I would advise that if there's not much difference in the price to buy it in his own country. Ipods are renowned for breaking (within their garuantee as well as after) so being able to send it back to the shop or appropriate apple centre might be worth it.
