I flew to ASlicante from East Midlands about 3 weks ago. Although they had the check in machines they weren't working.
As far as the boarding system goes - they call disabled and families with small children first. The rest are split into 2 groups - A & B and they'll call one then the other. However, this is to board a bus which then takes you to the plane where it's a free for all. I'd advise trying to check in early and getting in group A or at least getting to the gate as soon as they announce it so you can get on the first bus.
Have a great holiday. There's a great bar on the beach you really should try out. Enjoy.
Don't know if the self service checkin has changed anything, but Easyjet used to give you a boarding card numbered 1 up in order of checkin.
Nos 1-30 were let on first, with any disabled/special needs passengers, then 31-60, etc. Unlike Ryanair, they police it reasonably strictly.
Many thanks...we are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) so hopefully will get to sit together..(can't imagine anyone wanting to sit against teenagers that are not there own any why !! lol)
