Taking baby on holiday
I'm taking my 9 month old baby on holiday to Majorca - does anybody have any tips as I am worrying about the plane, feeding him in restaurants etc. Has anyone else been abroad lately with their baby?

I have taken both my sons to Mallorca when they were very young and found it a fab place for young children. Eating out was fab...the waiters would usually play and talk to the children more than anything..and give them sweets etc.
Have flown as far afield as Australia on my own with my then 14 month old...yes he screamed nearly all the way and did not sleep and he upset everyone more than likley but what are we supposed to do? not go abroad all because we have young children. Flight to Mallorca is only a couple of hours...so will be fine even if your child screams all the way because thats the worse scenario! hehehe.
You will have a great time away as just being in such a child loving country will be a holiday in itself.
You can buy nappies, wipes and baby food there all which are satisfactory which i have never had a problem with.
Have a great holiday...im off to Lanzarote next week with my 9 yr old and 3 yr old (3 yr old excellent in throwing tantrums and screams at ear breaking decibles!)

Try to get your baby to take his bottle during take off and landing, even if it's just water/juice and not a feed. This has the same effect as us sucking a boiled sweet, it should alleviate his little ears popping. That's the main reason little ones scream all the way through a flight, it's uncomfortable and unpleasant and it really disturbs them so they're unsettled for ages.
Take plenty of dirty looks with you too, for all those grouchy gits who forget we were all squealing babies once :o)

I found some useful tips from www.on-the-beach.co.uk when I was looking at taking our baby to Portugal.
We found feeding him on take off and landing helped to settle him. We took some bits with us, but mostly bought nappys when we were therew. Most resorts now cater for children, but may be a bit more expensive. Its up to you if you want to take everything with you or arre happy to buy when you get there.
Hold on to your babies pushchair right until you board though. We found this a godsend as our flight was delayed and we could push him around rather than hold on to him the whole time.
Have a good holiday.
