Hello, I'm flying out to Canada on the 9th of August (this coming Wednesday) And was wondering if any of you kind people would give me a few tips and pointers on how i could move up a travel class?

Isit still just a case of smart clothing or do you have any other tips?

One of the most common ways to be upgraded is to be late for the flight... If you're one of the last passengers there then they'll know they can't make any money out of charging for the upgrade and therefore might as well give it to you. Damn risky though!!

being on BA's books would help, eg registering for their air miles offers

Pay the difference in fare is the certain way.

Otherwise it's a question of luck, mainly, with the chances being slim but not non-existent.

As someone else said, you have two hopes, 'Bob Hope' and 'No Hope'.

However if you want to persist, knowing someone who works for the airline will help. You need to be able to get one of the following put against your name or booking, SFU (suitable for upgrade) or CIP (commercially important passenger).

Apart from that your chances are slim, as everyone else is trying their luck as well!!
